No matter who wins and who doesn’t competitors can be proud to have been part of building over a million results for the made up word Quadracentifiable..That’s bigger than ‘Chatham Islands’! Hold off on the Roast Chook on Sunday for an official announcement!

4 Quad%$#entifiable days to go!

‘Nzseochallenge’ is holding onto the top spot with all it’s might!! Will it stay there for the last 4 days?!

Just under 2 weeks to go!

That’s right.. There is just under 2 weeks to go before the New Zealand SEO Challenge 2010 deadline passes for the 28th of November at 5PM..
There has been some serious link building activity going on in these last weeks..  Good luck to all participants!!

So what does Q* mean?

With the official keyword not existing prior to the New Zealand SEO Challenge, competitors have been coming up with their own funky definition of what it means (*there will be some sort of a prize at the end for the most outstanding definition). The creativity has been increasing lately, with many new late registrations putting their spin on the word. Check out some of these great definitions:

  • The strongest, disgustingest, most flower droopiest smell mankind has ever been unlucky enough to whiff.

  • A classic kiwi band with hits about Search Engine Optimisation. Hits include- Jeremiah was a full blog, R-E-S-P-E-C-T-S-E-O, DJ Spin that Article, Stairway to Google, How am I supposed to rank without you (an ode to links) and the epic metal track “One”.

  • The 2.5% gap in the GST between 12.5 and 15 percent

All brilliant! So at this stage we are 1/3rd of the way through the competition. Remember that the winner should be able to make it to Auckland for the media training that comes with the main prize for the media/PR campaign. Keep up the great work!

Tremors continue in the SERP’s

The shaking has continued in the SERP’s with a new leader! We have had a number of late registrations, so keep an eye out for the up and comers. The top 10 as of the 13th Sep are:

  1. ‘nzseochallenge’
  2. ‘alike’
  3. ‘avatarchallenge’
  4. ‘thewebcoseo’
  5. ‘optymisesocialmedia’
  6. ’636825′
  7. ‘w9′
  8. ‘seowinner’
  9. ‘seochallenger’
  10. ‘socialmediaonline’

Some great definitions of what they keyword means (remember you can make it up as the word doesn’t didn’t exist!) Thumbs up to ‘The-q-word’ who wrote some killer sales copy that had me asking where do I sign up to buy one!

New Zealand SEO Challenge Update!

Well it has certainly been an interesting week since the keyword was announced on Tuesday morning, with over 7500 results in NZ! We have seen some funky dancing by Google with the results which has seen the lead come and go and given many a view from the top. And as for the meaning of the word? I like this one..’The ablity to split any object into four pieces, more specifically chalk or cheese into four quadrants’..That has to be inline for a creativity prize at the end of the challenge. At the time of writing, ‘Avatarchallenge’ had the top spot with ’636825′ and ‘W9′ in tow. Big ups to ‘Alike’ for their humorous YT video, content which must have come from a lack of sleep and too many RedBull shots :)

Keyword Announced!

All pre-registered participants have been informed this morning of the official keyword! The keyword is 100% made up so to make it fun the page content should be your interpretation of what the keyword means, the more creative the better! We will try and wrangle up  a sweet prize for the most creative website content by the end of the competition.

It’s still possible to register late and get the keyword phrase, right up until 1st of November. To do so register here
